| Dear Mrs. Mast: The 8th grade physical education classes here at the Berlin Junior High School are just completing their human sexuality unit. For the first time we utilized a large portion of the “Sex Respect” Curriculum and a little of “True Love Waits”. I must say that it was a very satisfying experience to see some of the positive results and responses from many of the students (male and female) throughout this unit. Many expressed the opinion that it was great, just what they and their peers needed to hear and that it addressed the important aspects of sexuality and the truth. The curriculum truly deals with the real issues and students are able to deal effectively with the topics presented because of that and that the truth is being spoken and taught. As the teacher I also feel very comfortable and confident in using this information to reach and teach the students. Please pray that the “Sex Respect” attitude stays with these students in the future and that we can inspire and encourage the high school health leaders in this town to utilize the same curriculum to offer consistency to the students and the issues through high school.
